4 WAYS TO SUPPORT SUN-DRENCHED SKIN
I think we all agree how wonderful summer is. Lazy days by the lake, outdoor BBQ's, warm evenings watching the sun set. Summer sun is something that I look forward to each year.
But the blazing sun, days spent swimming, and the hot dry air affects our skin causing issues such as acne breakouts, burns, dry and irritated skin, among other annoyances.
The beauty of it is that we can enjoy both the sun and a beautiful glow by supporting our skin properly. While there are more ways to do this, here's four simple tricks:
1/ Regular Moisturizing
Moisturize twice a day with a cream which penetrates and soothes sebaceous glands, restoring skin elasticity and suppleness. Some excellent oils include avocado, apricot kernel, and rosehip seed oil. Butters which help lock in moisture while also supporting skin tone, include shea and cocoa butter.
Exfoliate regularly to clear out the dead, flaky skin cells off the surface. This allows your moisturizer to penetrate deeper and work more effectively.
3/ Weekly Mask
Use a mask weekly. Masks can feel too time consuming to use regularly. An easy way to slip in a mask is to slather it on before showering, while showering the steam will provide a beneficial gentle push-pull reaction to the mask and right before jumping out, wash off your mask. Even a short 5-10 minute mask has benefits.
4/ Stay Hydrated
It's especially easy to get dehydrated on hot summer days. Making sure to keep water with you and sip on it throughout the day helps support all the organs in your body perform more effectively, including your skin.
While it's great to get a little lazy during the hot summer days, remember to keep up your skincare regimen to maintain a vibrant glow!
