JUST BREATHE to increase resilience to life

Having self-care tips in our toolbox to lean on when life throws us curve balls is invaluable to increase our resilience.  Having resilience improves our mood and overall outlook on life.  Here's a simple technique that immediately moves us from a sympathetic (stressed-out state) to a parasympathetic (calm state):

1/ Inhale for a count of four

2/ Hold for a count of four

3/ Exhale for a count of eight

Repeat at least three times.  Continual deep breathing throughout the day helps lower our stress response by triggering our parasympathetic nervous system.
