The intensive Journey your skincare product takes

Did you know the majority of time spent on skincare formulation is on research and math as opposed to mixing together blends of amazing ingredients?

Each formulation requires an intensive research period which includes researching and understanding how each potential ingredient works on the skin,  what certain ingredients are most beneficial for, their max dermal limits (how much should be applied to the skin), the reactions of the ingredients blended together, appropriate preservation methods, legal documentation and labeling, calculating potential chemical sensitizers found in some ingredients, and so on....

Once I've researched potential ingredients to be used in a formula - for example a blend intended to rejuvenate and bust wrinkles around the eyes. I then sit down with a formulation calculator to determine the percentage of each ingredient in the blend and calculate the maximum limit to be safely applied to the skin.

Then comes the fun part of testing potential formulations!  This means blending all those ingredients I spent time calculating together to determine the consistency and aromas.

Once that's complete there's various safety tests that the formulations undergo to make sure they are safe for use.  Tests such as stability testing (to make sure the product will stay consistent over time) and microbial testing (verifying that you won't be applying nasty bacteria to your beautiful face).

And after all of that the product is put out for a trial run to be sure you like it!

Finally the marketing strategy is pulled together and it's launch time when the product heads out into the world for you to enjoy!

Getting a product out to the world is an intensive process.

But do you know what??

I enjoy every step! I'm geeky and nerding out on the research part gives me a thrill!  Testing potential formulations is a blast (although sometimes gets expensive because stuff goes wrong and in the garbage at this point!). One of my kids, watching me blend together a formulation, says, "Mom, that looks like science."  Sure 'nuff, son.  That's exactly what it is!

Doing trial runs of products on my face makes me feel like I get special spa treatment.  And then telling you all about the new products when they are ready is exciting!

Announcement!!!!

I am currently completing a Diploma in Organic Skincare Formulation.  I've also enlisted the help of an Aromachologist and Herbalist in developing formulations.

My goal is to provide skinmalist (minimalist + skincare) self-care for women in the busiest phase of life...raising children, perhaps building a career, running a household and all the crazyness that this life brings.  So you can live vibrant!

Aromachology is the study of the influence of odors on human behavior and to examine the relationship between feelings and emotions.  So my Aromachologist helped me in recreating the aromas in each product to create blends that are truly uplifting and soothing.  My Herbalist friend supported these formulations by creating the most effective herbal blends for glowing skin.

That said...my current formulations are experiencing slight modifications pulled together from all this incredible knowledge.  They are taking a leap to the next level to uplevel your glow!

AND...drumroll, please....

I'm currently in the process of formulating a couple new products...hopefully they'll be ready for you by the beginning of 2022!!  Maybe sooner?

Keep your eyes peeled!

Hanna is a mom of busy children, is completing her Diploma is Organic Skincare Formulation and is a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. Hanna's love of natural skincare began with her own journey of struggle and angst with skin issues. Finally, after finding no solutions she rolled up her sleeves and spent half a decade researching ingredients and formulas until....finally...something actually worked. Most of her time is spend trying to keep up with the kids, folding something like 99 loads of laundry a day, and making sure nobody starves (they seem to do that 30 minutes after meal time). But when she's got a spare minute she loves helping other women achieve radiance, naturally!
